The mission of Backcountry Communities Thriving is to ensure the well-being of each child, family and individual in Julian and surrounding rural areas through advocacy, service and support to foster a thriving community.
GivingTuesday was created in 2012 as a simple idea: a day that encourages people to do good. Over the past 12 years, this idea has grown into a year-round global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity. Festival of Wreaths
The generous owners of Heroes Wood-Fired Pizza are hosting a silent auction to benefit Backcountry Communities Thriving. Julian businesses and organizations are encouraged to decorate a holiday wreath and donate it to the auction. Wreaths will be on display from December 7th through December 14th. Place your bid on your favorite wreath and support BCT. If you have any questions about the event, please contact Heroes at 760-765-1004.

Modest Needs is offering Self-Sufficiency Grants
Modest Needs is offering Self-Sufficiency Grants to qualified individuals / households who need help to afford two specific types of expenses:
Unexpected or emergency expenses.
Monthly bills that an individual or family living paycheck-to-paycheck cannot afford to pay at the time of their application.
