The mission of Backcountry Communities Thriving is to ensure the well-being of each child, family and individual in Julian and surrounding rural areas through advocacy, service and support to foster a thriving community.
2024 Community Action Partnership Needs Assessment
Community Action Partnership (CAP) is the region’s designated Community Action Agency, administering programs that empower economically disadvantaged communities and the residents that live there to achieve the vision of Live Well San Diego. CAP is administratively located under the County of San Diego’s Health and Human Services Agency (HHSA), The Department of Homeless Solutions and Equitable Communities.
CAP services are driven by a community needs assessments that include feedback from key community sectors, including residents. The results of the needs assessments, including the services CAP provides in response to the findings, are outlined in the Community Action Plan.
Your responses to the Needs Assessment Survey will help to highlight areas of improvement and drive the need for programs and services in the backcountry.

Modest Needs is offering Self-Sufficiency Grants
Modest Needs is offering Self-Sufficiency Grants to qualified individuals / households who need help to afford two specific types of expenses:
Unexpected or emergency expenses.
Monthly bills that an individual or family living paycheck-to-paycheck cannot afford to pay at the time of their application.
